Jackson Avenue Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church located on 2816 Jackson Avenue in Point Pleasant, WV.
The church had its start as Jackson Avenue Baptist Chapel on January 29, 1968 sponsored by Westmoreland Baptist Church in Huntington, WV. In May of the same year, the current property was purchased.
On September 20, 1981, the chapel became Jackson Avenue Baptist Church. The church became affiliated with the Immanuel Baptist Association of the WV Southern Baptist Convention in 1981 as well.
Since then, the little white church has undergone some major cosmetic changes, but what has not changed is its purpose. “To lead people to a personal, saving relationship with Christ by teaching the Word of God, providing opportunities for congregational worship, equipping for ministry, and encouraging fellowship and care for each other.”
